Delete your account

You can delete your Joinue account yourself, in the Joinue app or on joinue.com. It takes effect immediately and can't be undone.

How to delete your account

1. 1Sign in to Joinue, in the app or at joinue.com.
2. 2Open Settings, then Login and security.
3. 3Tap Delete account at the bottom of the page.
4. 4Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete. If you signed in with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm too.

Can't sign in? Email privacy@joinue.com from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.

What's deleted

• Your profile, sign-in, email address, phone number, date of birth, home location, avatar, cover art, and personal gallery.
• Everything private to you: your RSVPs and attendance history, connections, saved places, settings, and notifications.
• A draft event nobody was ever invited to.

What's kept, and for how long

• Things other people rely on stay, with your name and photo removed: messages in a group, events you hosted, photos in a shared album, posts and comments. They show as from "Deleted user". Events you were hosting pass to a co-host when there is one.
• Usage analytics age out after 180 days, and the few tied to your account lose that link when you delete it.
• Nightly encrypted backups are kept for 30 days, so deleted data can sit in one for up to 30 days before it's gone for good.
• A limited record that you accepted our Terms or opted into texts, and any opt-out you asked for, so we can keep honoring it.
• Anything tied to an open report, investigation, or legal obligation, for as long as that lasts.

Deleting some data without deleting your account

• Delete any post, photo, comment, or message you've sent, from its own menu.
• Clear your home location and remove your phone number in Settings.
• For anything else, email privacy@joinue.com and tell us what you want removed.
