Guests & RSVPs settings
Approval, plus-ones, a kids count, capacity, an RSVP deadline, questions for your guests, and whether guests can reply without an account.
Below the invite in the composer, the Guests & RSVPs section holds the choices about who can come and how. All of it is optional, and you can change it later by editing the event.
Who can join
- Require approval: review each request first. Guests who ask see Request sent, and they're in once you approve them.
- Guests can invite: guests who've answered can add people they know. See Invite guests.
- Introduce guests: guests who don't already know each other see each other's first names.
- RSVP without an account: anyone with the link can reply by name, no sign-up. It's off while Require approval is on, since every reply goes through you then.
Capacity and plus-ones
Capacity sets how many spots there are (No limit by default). Under Plus-ones, Each guest can bring sets how many people each guest may add, and guests set theirs with the Bringing guests stepper when they answer. A plus-one takes a spot; hosts and kids don't. When it fills, new replies join a waitlist and move up in order as spots open.
Kids
Planning a kids' party or a family picnic? Turn on Kids welcome and guests who say Going or Maybe get a Kids coming count, separate from Bringing guests. Kids never take a spot, so capacity only counts adults. The guest list then reads in adults and kids (12 adults · 9 kids), and each row shows what that guest is bringing, like +1 · 2 kids. Turning it off hides the counts without clearing them.
RSVP deadline
RSVP deadline closes replies at a time you choose: Day before, 2 days before, Week before, or any moment you pick. Guests see RSVP by and the date until then, and RSVPs are closed after. Nobody new can say Going or Maybe once it passes, but anyone already in can still switch their answer or drop out.
On an event that repeats, the deadline is measured from each date instead: The day before each date, or A week before each date.
Ask guests
Need to know something from everyone coming? Tap Ask guests and add up to five questions, each a short answer (Any dietary needs?) or a pick-one list (a meal choice: Chicken, Fish, Veggie). Mark each one Required or Optional.
Guests are asked right after they say Going or Maybe, on the event and on the share link, and can change their answers later. Only the hosts see the answers: the Details tab tallies them (Chicken 12 · Fish 5 · Veggie 3), and the guest list shows each person's under their name.
Notes with an RSVP
Guests can add a short note when they reply, like "Can't wait!" or "bringing the speaker". The newest show on the event, every note sits under its guest on the guest list, and a note sent with a reply comes along in your RSVP notification. A note left with Can't go is shown to the hosts only. Any host can remove a note. See RSVP to an event.
