Categories and event types

Everything on Explore carries a vibe category. Filter to one and the map colors to that scene:

• Music, Comedy, Trivia and games, Nightlife, Food and drink, Arts and culture, Wellness, Markets, Sports, and Outdoors.

Under the categories is a sharper layer of event types for when you know exactly what you're after: karaoke, trivia, bingo, open mics, happy hour, drag shows, live music, and more.

Open mics, by act

Open mics are split by who can get up: Comedy, Music, Poetry, or Mixed. A mic reads the way it runs, like Comedy open mic, Music & poetry open mic, or just Open mic when it takes everyone.

A mixed mic shows under every act it names, so a music and poetry night turns up on both chips. A mixed mic that names no act shows under all of them. Comedy open mic and Music open mic sit in the quick row; Poetry is under Filters.

On the map you can also filter by what a place offers: the games you can play there (pool tables, darts, shuffleboard, arcade, pinball) and its amenities or vibe (a patio, a rooftop, dog friendly, and so on).

Free or ticketed

Listings show an admission badge so you know before you go: a green Free, or the price itself (like $25). When the cost isn't known, there's no badge rather than a wrong guess, so Free always means free.
