Ping someone in your Orbit
A one-tap way to tell a friend you're thinking of them, no message needed.
A Ping is the lightest way to reach someone: no words, just a tap that says you're thinking of them. Open a connection's profile and tap Ping beside Message, or pick Ping from the menu on their row in your Orbit. They see it in their notifications, and it opens your profile, where Message is one tap away.
- Anyone in your Orbit can ping you, and you can ping anyone in yours. On a flare, anyone the flare reached can ping the person who lit it.
- A Ping always lands in notifications. It buzzes your phone only from the people you keep on your Radar and the people you're closest to (your inner rings in Galaxy), so a Ping never becomes noise. A Ping on a flare you lit always buzzes, since the flare asked for replies.
- Pinging the same person again within the hour won't land a second time. Joinue tells you they already got it.
- Mute or block someone and their Pings stop reaching you. To stop Pings from everyone, long-press one in your notifications and turn off notifications like it.
