Your card at a murder mystery, Secret Santa or gift swap
Some events hand you a private card: your character, who you're buying for, or your pick number. Here's where to find it and how to play.
When a host sets up a murder mystery, a Secret Santa, a seating plan or anything like it, you get a card only you can see. You're told when it's ready. With an account it's on the event's Details tab. If you answered on the host's link without an account, it's on that link, on the phone you answered from (open it on another phone and it says Your card opens on the phone you RSVP'd from).
Murder mystery
Your Character card has who you are, your Secret objectives and a costume idea. Keep it to yourself and stay in character all night. Only your Introduction is shared with the room, and you can lie unless your card says otherwise.
- Clues: some come with your card. Others unlock on your phone as the host starts each round, under New in round 2 and so on. Earlier ones stay below. If your host edits one, it's marked Updated.
- Props: a clue with Show everyone on it is something you can put in front of the room, like a letter or a receipt. It works once round 1 starts. Showing it can't be undone, and everyone sees it under your character's name.
- The case so far: everything the whole room has seen, newest first, with The cast (each character, their Introduction and who's playing them) at the bottom.
- The ending: when the host wraps up, you'll read that the solution is coming. It appears at the top once they show it.
Keep the event open on your phone during the party. On the night your card moves to the top of the page and updates by itself as rounds start. Round clues, props and The case so far need a free Joinue account, because they reach your phone live. If you answered by link, your card says so with a link to make one, and you keep your character when you do.
Secret Santa
Once the host releases the draw, your card says whose Secret Santa you are, the budget if there is one, and Their wishlist. Fill in Your wishlist too, so whoever draws you knows what to get. Only they see it, and you can change it before or after the draw.
White Elephant
Everyone coming gets a pick number before the party. When the host releases the order, you see the whole order and the house rules, like how many times a gift can be stolen. Bring one wrapped gift.
