Chat inside an event, trip, or Space
Every event, trip, and Space has its own chat, and it lives in your Talk inbox alongside everything else.
You don't set these up. Every event, trip, and Space comes with a chat, reached by the chat button on its page. It also shows in your Talk inbox, so one place holds all your conversations.
Each is scoped to the people who belong there: an event's chat is its host and anyone going or maybe, a trip's chat is the crew, and a Space's chat is its members. You may end up chatting alongside people you're not connected to, but only inside something you both joined.
A venue listing is the one exception. Nobody is running it, so there's no event-wide chat, and its chat button opens your crew's chat instead, once someone else is in your crew.
On a computer, opening one of these chats from the page it belongs to puts it in a small window over the page instead of taking you to your inbox, so the crew can talk while you're all reading the same plan. It stays with you while you move around that event or trip, and closes when you leave.
Who's going, and who's here
An event's chat shows its RSVPs where people are already looking. Quiet lines between the messages say who's going (with their RSVP note, if they left one), and on the night, who's here once they check in. Several at once fold into one line, like Sam, Jo and 3 others are going. A chip under the chat's header counts them (12 going · 3 here), and tapping it or a line opens the guest list.
These lines aren't messages: they never count as unread or send a notification, and changing an answer takes the line away. You only see the people you could see on the guest list anyway, hosts don't get lines of their own, and the here lines drop away once the night is over.
Event announcements in the chat
A host's announcements show up in the event's chat as cards, and the newest one leads the pinned banner at the top until the event ends. Tap a card or the banner to read the whole thing, react, or reply to it. Hosts can post one right from the chat: tap the plus in the composer and choose Announcement.
Turn a thread into an invite
Paste an event or trip link into any thread and it becomes a rich invite card the thread can act on. If you're able to invite those people, Joinue offers to send everyone in the thread an invite in one tap.
