Trip ideas and getting there

The idea board

Not everything makes the itinerary right away. Tap Ideas (the lightbulb) to pitch things to do: on a phone it sits on the itinerary's title line, and on a wider screen it's in the trip's top bar. The crew votes on them. When an idea has support, an organizer promotes it to a real stop on the itinerary.

Getting there and back

A trip is more than the days in the middle. The itinerary has Getting there and Heading home sections for the travel that bookends it. Add flights, drives, trains, or ferries with times and details, so everyone knows the plan from door to door.

Sharing a car

Driving there in a few cars? Add the drive under Getting there or Heading home as a Drive leg and name the driver under Who. To offer seats, fill in Open seats when you add the leg, or the driver can tap Offer seats on its card later. The card then draws the car: the driver, a face in every taken seat, and a + in each open one.

• To ride, tap an open seat or Ride with and the driver's name. You can only be in one car per stretch, so if you're already in another one you're offered Switch to their car instead.
• Once you're in, the card says who you're riding with and when the car leaves, with Leave if plans change.
• The driver or an organizer can tap Manage car to change the seat count or put people from the crew in the car, guests without the app included.

The driver hears when someone takes a seat, and anyone put in a car by somebody else gets a notification saying they have a ride. Changing the driver, switching the leg away from Drive, or moving it to the other stretch empties the car.
