What the numbers on the menu mean
A number on a menu item is something waiting on you, never a running total. Answer it and the number goes away.
Joinue only puts a number on a menu item when something there needs you. It never counts how much stuff a section holds, so a number always means there's a thing to answer, and answering it clears it.
In the side menu
- Events: invitations you haven't answered yet. RSVP and it drops.
- Calendar: Align plans waiting on your vote. Mark when you're free and it drops.
- Orbit: connection requests waiting on you. Accept or decline to clear it.
- Spaces: Space invitations you haven't answered, plus requests to join a Space you review.
- Trips: trip invitations you haven't answered.
- Talk: unread messages. Reading the conversation clears it.
Orbit can also show a quiet number in plain text when no request is waiting. That one isn't a badge: it's how many people are in your Orbit.
On a phone's bottom bar
The bottom bar has fewer tabs, so Calendar carries both kinds of date business: invitations you haven't answered plus Align plans waiting on your vote. Orbit shows connection requests, and Talk shows unread messages.
In the account menu
If you run a venue or performer page, a dot on your avatar means there are unread messages to your pages. Open the account menu and the Backstage row shows how many.
