Who can reach you, and what you show

Alongside the profile dial, Privacy settings holds the finer controls over who reaches you and what you give away.

Who can send you a connection request

• Everyone: anyone can ask to connect.
• Friends of friends: only people who already share a connection with you can ask.
• No one: nobody can send you a request. You can still reach out to other people yourself.

Who can tag or mention you

One setting covers both, because a tag in a photo and an @mention in a post are the same act: somebody putting your name on something.

• Everyone you share something with: anyone on an event with you can tag you in its photos, and your connections can mention you in a post.
• Orbit only: only people in your Orbit can tag or mention you.
• No one: nobody can tag or mention you at all.

What other people learn about where you go

• Attend privately keeps your new RSVPs off the guest list. You're still counted in the numbers, and the hosts still see you: this hides you from the other guests, not from the people running the night.
• Show the Regulars you attend puts you on the who's-going list for a weekly night you marked Interested. Turn it off and only you can see it.
• Show your gravity puts your gravity tier and score on your profile. Turn it off and only you see them.
• Hide my darts stats keeps your darts numbers to yourself. Games you accepted still count for the people you played, so hiding your side doesn't take the game off theirs.

Who sees your Signals posts

The Signals section of Privacy settings shows who sees your posts by default (your Orbit, unless you've changed it). It's set in the Signals composer itself: pick an audience there and tap Make this my default. Any single post can still go to a different audience.

Your friend code

Your friend code is the one thing that outranks every setting on this page: holding it is the grant, which is what makes even a Private profile reachable by somebody you handed it to. So if you're tightening things up, that's the piece to remember. Reset it in Privacy settings and you get a new one straight away, which retires any QR you've printed or shared and any link carrying the old one.

Online status and read receipts

Show online status lets the people in your Orbit see when you're active. Turn it off and you simply don't appear as around.

Read receipts are reciprocal by design: share when you've read messages, and you see when others have. Turn them off and you won't see theirs either, so it's an even trade rather than a way to read without being seen. It covers direct messages (Delivered and Read) and group threads (Read by). Event, trip, and Space chats don't show receipts either way.

Your birthday

Share your birthday shows the day and month (never the year, never your age) to your connections, and gives the people closest to you a heads-up around the date. It's on by default and off in one tap. Full details in Your birthday.
