Who can reach you, and what you show
Connection requests, photo tags, your online status, and read receipts each have their own switch.
Alongside the profile dial, Privacy settings holds the finer controls over who reaches you and what you give away.
Who can send you a connection request
- Everyone: anyone can ask to connect.
- Friends of friends: only people who already share a connection with you can ask.
- No one: nobody can send you a request. You can still reach out to other people yourself.
Who can tag you in photos
- Everyone at the event: anyone on an event with you can tag you in its photos.
- Connections only: only people in your Orbit can tag you.
- No one: nobody can tag you at all.
Online status and read receipts
Show online status lets the people in your Orbit see when you're active. Turn it off and you simply don't appear as around.
Read receipts are reciprocal by design: share when you've read messages, and you see when others have. Turn them off and you won't see theirs either, so it's an even trade rather than a way to read without being seen. Direct messages never show receipts to begin with, so this governs group, event, and trip chats.
