Mute, pin, archive, and disappearing messages
Quiet a noisy thread, keep an important one on top, tuck one away, or set messages to clear themselves.
Open any conversation and tap its name or info button for these controls:
- Mute: silence a thread's notifications without leaving it.
- Pin: keep an important conversation at the top of your inbox.
- Archive: tuck a conversation out of the inbox. It comes back the moment there's a new message.
- Disappearing messages: set new messages to clear themselves after 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days. Anyone in the thread can turn it on, and a small banner shows when it's on.
You can also save any message to your own Saved list from its actions, so the address or the time you agreed on is easy to find later.
