Start a message or group thread
Message anyone in your Orbit, or spin up a named group thread for a set of people.
A direct message
Direct messages are between you and one person in your Orbit. Open their profile and message them, or pick up an existing thread in your Talk inbox. See Who can message you for why it's Orbit only.
A group thread
- 1In Talk, tap New conversation.
- 2Name it, and add a photo if you want one.
- 3Choose who can manage it: just you, or any member.
- 4Add people from your Orbit, and the thread is ready.
A group thread stands on its own, no event or plan required. To manage one later, open it and tap the group's name: managers can rename it, change the photo, and add or remove people, and anyone can leave.
You can only add people from your Orbit to a group. Someone you're not connected to won't show up in the picker.
