Your birthday

Joinue shows the day and month of your birthday to people you're connected with. It sits among the details on your profile, and around the date it can show up on their home screen so somebody who knows you gets a chance to say something.

What is never shown

• Your birth year, and your age. Neither is ever shown to anyone, anywhere.
• Your birthday to anyone outside your connections. This does not change with your profile visibility: even a public profile shows it to connections only.
• Anything at all if you're under 18. Birthday sharing is off for those accounts and cannot be turned on until you turn 18.

Turning it off

Open Privacy settings and switch off Share your birthday. Your profile stops showing it and nobody gets a reminder. Nothing else changes, and you can turn it back on whenever you like.

If the date is wrong

You can correct your date of birth once yourself, in Login and security. After that, write to privacy@joinue.com and we'll sort it out.

Whose birthdays you'll hear about

Only people you're close to, and only around the day itself, so it stays a handful a year rather than a running list. Putting somebody on your Radar means you hear about theirs a few days ahead, which is enough time to actually do something about it.
