Quiet one trip, Space, or conversation
Turn one noisy thing down without changing anything else. Trips and Spaces carry their own level; a conversation has a mute.
Your notification settings set the shape of everything. When it's one particular trip or group that's loud, turn that one down instead.
Trips and Spaces
A trip and a Space each carry their own level, set from its own menu:
- All activity: everything, the default.
- Highlights only: just the things that actually matter, like a confirmed booking or a change of plan. The chatter stops.
- Muted: nothing from this one.
It's yours alone. Nobody else on the trip can tell, and it doesn't affect what you can see or do there.
A conversation
Any thread in Talk can be muted from its info sheet, which silences it without leaving it. See Mute, pin, archive, and disappearing messages.
Muted means muted. If you silence a trip, you won't hear even when it's called off, so keep an eye on it yourself. Highlights only is the setting that stays quiet without missing the big ones.
