Prep: bring lists, polls, and to-dos
The Prep tab organizes who brings what, group decisions, song requests, shared costs, and tasks.
Every event has a Prep tab for the coordination that usually gets lost in the group chat. Add sections when you create the event (Shared lists and polls under Prep) or later from the tab:
- Bring list: post what the event needs (ice, chairs, dessert) and guests add and claim items.
- Poll: put questions to the group and let the answers settle themselves. Every poll also shows up in the event's chat, where people can vote without leaving the conversation, and you can put one on an announcement when it needs everyone's attention.
- Song requests: guests queue up what they want to hear.
- Expenses: log shared costs and see who owes whom. See Expenses and settling up.
- To-do list: an assignable checklist for hosts and helpers.
Who can add to it
Each section has its own setting under Who can add to it: Anyone going (guests who said yes can add to it, and so can you) or Hosts only (guests still see it and act on it, but only you add to it). Polls start as Hosts only, so asking the question is yours and voting is everyone's. The rest start open to anyone going.
Guests who RSVP'd by link without an account can add to the bring list and claim items too, from the link they answered on.
When one dish needs more than one person
Normally one person claims an item and it's taken. For the things that need a few people (drinks, sides, desserts), tap Several people can bring this when you add it, or tap the pencil on an item already on the list and switch it on there. The item stays open, and everyone who's bringing some is listed on it.
You can switch it back to one person while one person or nobody is on it. Once two or more are bringing it, it stays shared, so nobody gets quietly dropped. They can take themselves off if plans change.
